The original collection was transferred to ACPL by the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan in 2009. The Alpena Postcard Collection contains postcards published from the early years of Alpena’s foundation to the 20th century. The main focus of the collection is Alpena-related postcards but also covers some surrounding areas such as Hubbard Lake, Hillman, and Presque Isle.

and donated to ACPL. Members of the public are welcome to donate

missing postcards of Alpena region or related subjects to collection.
